Great for those that have previously made curtains but may have some skill gaps in key areas, or for the complete novice . We will take you through the process of measuring the window, pole or track. Estimating fabrics taking into account pattern repeats, cutting fabrics and linings, pattern matching, and finally the make up to basic tape heading. • Measuring - without getting this right all your hard work will be for nothing! • Working out pattern repeats - most people dread this bit, its quite easy once you know how. • Pattern matching - how to get it right every time. • Making up - make a hand finished curtain to be proud of. Advanced Curtain Making Course

Includes course-notes, materials and lunch. 4 students on each course only The advanced curtain making course takes you to the next level. You will have to know the basics in curtain making to get the best from this course. We will show you how to calculate 1/2 drop pattern repeats. How to make beautiful hand made headings such as French or pinch pleat, goblet, double goblet, and quintet. As the headings are the main feature of this course, you will not make a complete curtain, but you will learn how to calculate and sew hand made headings, we will also explain interlining and how it is used. You will learn how to measure the pleated width for poles to include 'spring-back'. • Calculating pleats. • In what situation to use hand made headings. • Interlining, which types and how to use it. • Making different pleated headings.
